Czech Rights Group Names 3 Spokesmen

PRAGUE, Czechoslovakia — Czechoslovakia’s Charter 77 human rights group Sunday named its three spokesmen for 1988, among them one of the leading intellectuals of the “Prague Spring” 20 years ago.
Three new spokesmen are appointed each year. A statement made available to Western journalists named the 1988 trio as Stanislav Devaty, 35, Milos Hajek, 66, and Bohumir Janat, 38.
Hajek was a top Communist Party intellectual during the 1968 democratization movement under Alexander Dubcek. Devaty is a technician at a model cooperative farm and former philosophy student Janat is a manual worker.
