High School Highlights : Handschu, Sanger Spark Montclair Prep Win, 63-41

Craig Handschu and David Sanger, Montclair Prep’s leading scorers, led the Mounties to a 63-41 Alpha League victory Saturday at Maranatha.
Handschu scored 19 points on 8-for-14 shooting and Sanger added 10 as Montclair Prep improved to 8-6 overall, 2-1 in league play.
Sanger grabbed 11 rebounds and Duane Johnson had 13 points and 5 assists.
Dave Engel scored 12 points in Maranatha’s 13th loss in 14 games.
BOYS’ BASKETBALL
Crossroads 57, Providence 25--Sophomore Tim Edgar scored eight points off the bench and Ben Tahouri added seven points, but Providence could not overcome 19 turnovers and 9-of-31 shooting from the field against the defending Southern Section 1-A Division champion.
The Pioneers fell to 1-10 overall, 0-3 in the Delphic League.
Rudy Henry scored 12 points for Crossroads (7-7, 3-1), which was upset by Brentwood in its last game.
BOYS’ SOCCER
Alemany 3, Bosco Tech 1--Senior Bill Florez scored his team-leading 10th goal to lead the Indians to a Del Rey League win.
Scott Goldsmith and Joe Favre also scored for Alemany (14-3-2 overall, 4-0-1 in league play).
