Cal State Fullerton and San Jose State, basketball teams that so far have failed to live up to expectations, will meet at 1 p.m. today in a Pacific Coast Athletic Assn. game at San Jose’s Civic Auditorium.
The Titans, picked to finish third in the conference by a poll of conference coaches, have yet to win a PCAA game in six tries and have struggled to a 4-11 record overall.
San Jose State, picked second in the poll, is 8-7 overall and 4-3 in the PCAA after a 95-83 loss to Nevada Las Vegas Thursday night.
Ricky Berry, a senior who is the son of San Jose State Coach Bill Berry, leads the Spartans and the PCAA in scoring with an average of 24.7 points a game.
Senior Richard Morton remains the Titans’ leading scorer, but 15-of-62 shooting in the last three games has helped lower his average to 22.8.
