Kirk Riddle, a 6-foot 5-inch sophomore center, scored 20 points and had 9 rebounds Friday night to lead Capistrano Valley Christian High School to a 62-58 victory over Valley Christian in an Olympic League game at Capistrano Valley.
Chris Phillips added 16 points and 5 assists for Capistrano Valley Christian (9-8 overall and 4-4 in league). Valley Christian was led by Mike Blackstad with 19 points.
Valley Christian built a 13-8 first-quarter lead and was ahead, 28-23, at halftime before Capistrano Valley Christian took control of the game in the third quarter.
In another Olympic League game:
Orange Lutheran 79, Ontario Christian 71--Pat Bagatourian and Jason Neben scored 18 points each as Orange Lutheran (11-6 overall and 6-2 in the Olympic League) beat host Ontario Christian (7-11, 2-6). Billy Mouw scored 27 for the losers.
