SEATTLE — United Airlines today ordered 30 Boeing 757-200 jetliners and took options for 30 more, giving Boeing Commercial Airplanes its third multibillion-dollar order for aircraft in two weeks.
United’s firm order for 30 jets is valued at more than $1.3 billion, Boeing said. Deliveries of the jets are to be over a three-year period beginning in 1989. United has chosen Pratt & Whitney engines to power its new planes, which will be outfitted to accommodate 192 passengers in two classes.
