Local News in Brief : La Palma : $600,000 in Drugs Seized; 5 Men Held

Five men were arrested and about $600,000 worth of illegal drugs were seized Friday following a joint investigation by the La Palma Police Department and state Department of Justice’s Bureau of Narcotic Enforcement, authorities said.
The suspects were taken into custody about 2:10 p.m. at a print shop in the 7900 block of Valley View Avenue, La Palma Police Officer Jim Enright said.
Evidence seized during the arrest included 1 1/2 pounds of “nearly pure” methamphetamine with an estimated street value in excess of $600,000, he said. Police said they also seized a stolen handgun from one of the suspects.
Arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance and possession for sale of methamphetamines were David Holzboog, 21, of Paramount; Jesse Tatro, 34, of Riverside; Augustine Martin, 31, of Whittier; John Abelar, 26, of Whittier, and Curt Boughman, 27, of Anaheim, Enright said. All were being held in Orange County Jail.
