Traughber Carries La Canada Past Hoover

Paul Traughber provided the only scoring with a 3-yard run in the third quarter as La Canada High defeated Hoover, 6-0, in a nonleague football game Thursday night at Glendale High.
Traughber, who had 75 yards in 10 carries, dashed 24 yards to the 3-yard line on the play preceding the touchdown.
Offensive pass interference nullified a 6-yard touchdown pass by Hoover quarterback Steve Solano with 1:47 to play.
Hoover halfback Johnny Chung rushed for 89 yards in 14 carries and wide receiver Ricky Lopez caught 3 passes for 23 yards.
Solano completed 6 of 11 passes for 53 yards.
La Canada quarterback Jim Chamblis completed 4 of 8 for 50 yards.
Hoover fell to 1-3-1. La Canada is 2-3.
