Prep Football : Garrett Throws Two TD Passes in Valencia Shutout

Quarterback Tracy Garrett passed for 118 yards and 2 touchdowns to lead Valencia High School to a 21-0 nonleague football victory over Cypress Friday in front of 1,000 at Valencia.
Running back Keef Leasure, after being held to 19 yards rushing in the first half, finished with 141 yards in 24 carries as Valencia gained 334 yards in total offense. Valencia, meanwhile, held Cypress to minus 36 yards rushing.
The game was scoreless until 1 minute 29 seconds remained in half. At that juncture, Valencia (4-0-1) capped a 94-yard, 14-play drive when Garrett completed a 9-yard touchdown pass to Guy Shepard.
Kevin Thomas ran for a 21-yard touchdown with 2:53 remaining in the third quarter. Garrett, following an interception by Scott Wilson, completed a 6-yard scoring pass to tight end Scott Wienman with 7:37 left.
The Tiger defense sacked quarterback Chris Dangaran seven times. The Centurions (1-4) had 22 yards total offense, with Dangaran completing 9 of 13 passes for 58 yards.
It was the fourth time that Cypress has been shut out this season. The Centurions have scored only 14 points in their 5 games.
