Prep Football : Pastorello Does It All for Katella, 10-0
- Share via
Joe Pastorello, Katella High School tailback, did everything from score touchdowns to being named homecoming king in leading Katella to a 10-0 nonleague victory over La Mirada Friday night in front of 625 at Glover Stadium in Anaheim.
Pastorello, a senior who also punts and plays linebacker, rushed for 88 yards in 23 carries and scored on a 13-yard run with 2:46 left in the first quarter to lead Katella.
Pastorello’s performance offset that of La Mirada’s John Jones, who had 100 yards rushing.
Katella (3-1-1) was aided by 4 La Mirada turnovers that set up Pastorello’s touchdown and Brad Wilkinson’s 40-yard field goal with 6 seconds left in the first quarter.
La Mirada (2-3) moved the ball well but turnovers put it in a hole early. Katella stopped La Mirada on fourth down twice inside its 30-yard line.
