Prep Football : Santa Ana Faces Tough Foe in Unbeaten Loyola
- Share via
Santa Ana High School’s football team goes from playing the best team in Orange County to playing one of the the best in the United States.
The Saints (2-2) travel to Glendale High School tonight for a 7:30 p.m. game against Loyola, which is ranked second in the nation by USA Today. Last week, Santa Ana lost, 35-12, to Mission Viejo, Orange County’s top ranked team.
“Our schedule is a doozy this year,” Santa Ana Coach Dick Hill said. “Loyola is one of the best defensive teams I’ve seen.”
The Cubs (4-0) are coming off a 17-3 victory over Antelope Valley and have given up just 17 points this season.
In other nonleague games:
Foothill vs. Irvine at 7:30 p.m.; Trabuco Hills vs. St. Joseph (Santa Maria) at 2 p.m.; Village Christian vs. Orange Lutheran at 2 p.m.
In the Arrowhead League: Southern California Christian vs. Capistrano Valley Christian at Saddleback College at 7:30 p.m.
