Local News in Brief : Newport Beach : President Chosen for Schools Foundation

Linda Schulein, a free-lance writer and community activist, has been elected president of the Newport-Mesa Schools Foundation, a nonprofit organization that has raised private funds for the Newport-Mesa Unified School District since 1981.
Schulein is a graduate of Bowling Green State University in Ohio. She and her husband, Jeff, have three sons and have lived in Newport Beach for 18 years.
Others joining Schulein on the executive board include Garry Short of Newport Beach, the foundation vice president, and Anne Hinkle of Costa Mesa, treasurer.
