Prostitute 1st Soviet AIDS Death

MOSCOW — The Soviet Union said today a pregnant prostitute has died of AIDS, the first reported death from the disease in the country.
Authorities are considering publishing the woman’s photograph to alert her sexual partners, who were mostly foreigners, the labor newspaper Trud reported. The 29-year-old woman died Sept. 5 of pneumonia following a 26-pound weight loss, chronic tonsillitis and bronchitis, Trud said.
