Digital Equipment Corp. effectively raised its prices by 6% to 9% on most products by eliminating a free, one-year warranty program, a move expected to help on Wall Street. The move topped the 3% to 5% increase announced earlier by International Business Machines Corp., which analysts had predicted Maynard, Mass.-based Digital would match.
