Westlake 36, Simi Valley 0--A swarming Westlake defense held the Pioneers to 75 total yards and 5 first downs as the visiting Warriors recorded their first win. Westlake racked up 354 total yards, including 261 in the first half, and rolled to a 27-0 halftime lead.
Westlake quarterback Todd Preston completed 6 of 15 for 113 yards and 2 touchdowns and rushed for 56 yards in 9 carries. Teammate Seamus Gibbons rushed for 54 yards and 2 touchdowns in 6 carries, including a 51-yard scamper on a fake punt in the first quarter.
Simi Valley quarterback Eric Hale completed 3 of 6 for 21 yards and rushed for 31 yards in 14 carries.
