Local News in Brief : San Juan Capistrano : Body Found Under Van Off Ortega Highway

California Highway Patrol officers and Orange County sheriff’s deputies Thursday night were trying to remove a body pinned under a van discovered 200 feet down the side of Ortega Highway.
The van went over the edge of the road about 14 miles inland from Interstate 5, said CHP spokesman Mike Lundquist.
A sheriff’s deputy said the victim appeared to be a man in his 30s. It was not known when the accident occurred.
Efforts to retrieve the body were hampered by darkness and the ruggedness of the terrain.
