Oxnard 42, Rio Mesa 7--Running back Bryant Taylor rushed for a game-high 191 yards and 4 touchdowns to lead the Yellowjackets (6-1, 4-0) at Oxnard. Rio Mesa lost 5 fumbles, including 3 consecutive turnovers in the second half that led to Oxnard scores.
Rio Mesa (1-6, 4-0) scored on a 12-yard pass from Henry Wilson to Myron Hart in the first quarter.
Taylor, a junior fullback in the Oxnard wishbone, had touchdown runs of 83, 48, 2 and 10 yards to give him 16 touchdowns for the season. Junior quarterback Johnel Turner (8 rushes for 86 yards) capped Oxnard’s scoring with a 49-yard run.
