Larry Bird scored 17 of his game-high 27 points in the second half, and Kevin McHale sparked an early third-quarter surge to lead the Boston Celtics to a 113-85 victory over the Yugoslav national team in the first round of the McDonald’s Basketball Open at Madrid.
The Celtics will play Real Madrid in Sunday’s championship game.
