My husband and I recently returned from France and wish to correct a letter written by M. L. Stein (Oct. 2). Stein complained about having to pay 10 francs, about $1.68 U.S., to get a cart at the Paris railway stations of Gares Est and St. Lazare. It is true that one must pay the 10 francs, but when the cart is returned, the money is returned. Also, Stein complained of having to pay 2 1/2 francs for admission to restrooms. Actually, all one has to do is use a restroom in a restaurant or hotel, where there is no charge. This is applicable throughout France.
