Trio-Tech International, a San Fernando maker of testing equipment for the semiconductor industry, reported for the first quarter that ended Sept. 30 net income of $32,000, or 1 cent a share, contrasted with a loss of $260,000 in the same period a year earlier. Sales were up 22% to $4.4 million from $3.6 million.
Company President Charles Wilson said equipment sales are up because of a boom in the semiconductor industry and the resumption of satellite production, which had slumped after the January, 1986, explosion of the space shuttle Challenger.
