Forty Niner’s fourth-place finish in the Breeders’ Cup Classic at Churchill Downs turned out to be the last racing appearance for the 1987 2-year-old champion.
Forty Niner, second in this year’s Kentucky Derby, will be shipped to Claiborne Farm in a couple of weeks, trainer Woody Stephens said.
