Sparkle (SelecTV Wednesday at 5 p.m.): Vivid, unjustly neglected 1976 movie about a Supremes-like trio; Philip Michael Thomas, Irene Cara and Lonette McKee are featured. (1:40)
I’m No Angel (Channel 5 Thursday at 2:30 a.m.): Mae West’s best. This is the one in which she progresses from carnival hootchy-kootchy dancer to lion tamer, snagging socialite Cary Grant along the way. Fast, funny and timeless. (2:00)
The Phantom of the Opera (A&E; Thursday at 7 a.m.): There’s not much plot or even that many scares in this 1925 silent classic, but it is striking looking, to say the least, and Lon Chaney is unforgettable. (1:30)
The Trial (Channel 7 Saturday at 3:30 a.m.): Orson Welles’ ambitious, largely effective Kafka adaptation, starring Anthony Perkins and filmed hauntingly in Paris’ immense, then-abandoned Gare d’Orsay (now a museum). (2:10)
