NBC News president Michael Gartner has said that the “Sunday Today” show will move from New York to Washington around Jan. 15. According to an internal memo obtained by the Washington Post, Gartner also confirmed that Sid Feders will remain as executive producer of the show. No mention was made, however, of the show’s current on-air talent: co-anchor Maria Shriver (who commutes every week from California for the broadcast), New York-based co-anchor Garrick Utley and weatherman Al Roker (who broadcasts the weather five nights a week from WNBC in New York) or “Meet the Press” moderator Chris Wallace, whose broadcast already comes out of Washington.
