Winfield expressed sorrow over the death of Cedric Tallis. Once the Angels’ vice president for operations, Tallis was also general manaer of the Yankees and the Kansas City Royals.
“He was a nice man. I had a good relationship with him,” Winfield said. “He was one of those nice guys that worked in a tough organization.”
