From Bond to Columbus: Timothy Dalton will go from uncovering intricate plots as secret agent 007 to making bigger discoveries. The star, known for his portrayal of James Bond, has been cast as Christopher Columbus in the long-anticipated movie, “Christopher Columbus: The Discovery.” The film’s screenplay was written by Mario Puzo (“Godfather”). George P. Cosmatos (“Rambo II”) will direct, and Ilya and Alexander Salkind are the producers. The movie goes into production this summer on location in Spain, the United States and the Caribbean.
