Hardy Brown, a linebacker whose jarring shoulder tackle made him one of the hardest hitters in professional football, has died at age 67 in Stockton.
Brown, who played for the San Francisco 49ers in the 1950s, died in a nursing home Friday of natural causes.
Y.A. Tittle, a quarterback for the 49ers and New York Giants, once recalled that Brown knocked out 23 players in 1951.
