DEMOCRATIC DISDAIN: When Rep. Christopher Cox (R-Newport Beach) offered a resolution suggesting that the House stay out of state term-limit fights, Democrats called it “frivolous and pointless,” and accused him of diverting attention away from the economic crisis. It got shot down 264-160 on a procedural vote. Rep. Robert K. Dornan (R-Garden Grove) later said he could have turned it around if Cox had called on him to make one of his trademark fiery speeches.
