Shows of Support: The opening night of “Chita” Wednesday at the Westwood Playhouse will benefit the Shanti Foundation, an AIDS support group, and the Nov. 29 performance will benefit Aid for AIDS in conjunction with the Greater Los Angeles Sports Assn. “Chita” stars Tony-winner Chita Rivera performing songs she introduced on Broadway, along with other show music. . . . “Love Letters” is offering a $5-per-ticket discount in exchange for canned food items that will go to the Salvation Army Family Services. The exchange applies to the Nov. 25-Dec. 1 performances at the Canon Theater, when “Star Trek” stars William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy will be reading the roles with their wives.
