Even After the Shock, It’s Hard to Get Used to Absence of Magic

The Times is to be congratulated for printing Pam McGee’s story regarding her personal involvement with Magic Johnson. Bill Dwyre’s story is certainly not to be overlooked, either.
Amid all the media euphoria concerning Magic’s withdrawal from the game, it was Dwyre and McGee who pointed out Johnson’s flamboyant and irresponsible lifestyle that would undoubtedly catch up with him in the end.
The misdirected national heroism showered on Johnson eclipsed the sexual irresponsibility of a man who should have known better.
