Not a Good Move for UCLA Fans
I was unable to take my wife and two sons to the UCLA homecoming game last week because of a conflict caused by the last-minute postponement of the kickoff from 12:30 to 3:30. UCLA subsequently refused to refund our money or substitute tickets to a future game. Through this scheme, UCLA got to keep the price of our tickets in addition to reaping the benefits of a TV appearance.
The UCLA athletic department obviously feels that a lucrative television appearance is more desirable than keeping a scheduled commitment to thousands of dedicated fans. How do I explain the concept of greed to my 4-year-old son?
