In another Golden League game:

Saugus 42, Palmdale 12--Quarterback Bobby Cowan completed 12 of 21 passes for 184 yards and two touchdowns and rushed for 61 yards in seven carries and scored a third touchdown as the Centurions (6-4, 3-2) romped at College of the Canyons. Because Canyon won, the only hope for Saugus to make the playoffs is a wild-card berth.

Saugus running back David Doyle ran for 115 yards in 11 carries and scored on runs of 17 and four yards to lead all rushers. The Centurions scored on the first play of the game when Cowan hit Mike Cruz with a 42-yard touchdown pass and Saugus built a 35-6 halftime lead.
