Peninsula Doubles Teams Advance

The top-seeded Peninsula High doubles team of Amanada Augustus and Kelly Olsen and second-seeded teammates Stephanie Landsdorp and Summer Redondo advanced to the semifinals of the Southern Section individual tennis championships at Lindborg Racquet Club in Huntington Beach on Thursday.
Augustus and Olsen defeated Alison Brody and Annie Hoecker of Pasadena Poly, 6-2, 6-0, in the round of 16, and Michelle Kong and Jennifer Yuan of San Marino, 6-1, 6-1, in the quarterfinals.
Landsdorp and Redondo eliminated Rebecca Cannon and Roxanne Davidowitz of Chadwick, 6-1, 6-0, and Beam Amesbutr and Bee Amesbutr of Chino, 6-0, 6-2.
The only South Bay entrant in singles play, Amber Basica of Peninsula, was defeated by Ritu Manjunath of St. Lucy’s, 6-3, 7-5, in the round of 16.
