Jeff Rynders and Jason Faulk scored as Capistrano Valley defeated Huntington Beach, 2-1, in a nonleague boys’ soccer game Thursday at Huntington Beach.
Keith Morrissey scored the Oilers’ goal.
In girls’ nonleague soccer:
Rosary 3, Fullerton 0--Andrea Barclay scored twice and Helen Baron made 12 saves as the Royals (3-2-1) won at Fullerton.
Orange 7, Orange Lutheran 0--Laura Roundy and Rebecca Comstock each scored two goals as the Panthers (1-2-1) won for the first time this season. Orange Lutheran is 0-4.
Westminster 3, Rancho Alamitos 2--Kelly Ray, Stephanie Wilson and Susie Schmidt scored first-half goals, and Westminster (2-2) withstood a Rancho Alamitos goal by Amanda Varner and an accidental goal by its own defense in the second half.
In a consolation-bracket game in the Irvine girls’ tournament:
University 3, Tustin 1--Jenny Whiteley scored two goals and Kristin Pope scored one for the Trojans. Nicole Gallardo had eight saves for University.
