A man was killed Friday afternoon in a collision on Harbor Boulevard in Costa Mesa. The accident forced the closure for a short time of the Harbor offramp from the San Diego Freeway.
Police said Antonio Lopez was pronounced dead at the scene. The man’s age and hometown were not released.
Police said the accident happened after a car pulling out of a driveway onto Harbor near Date Place was hit by a sport utility vehicle, causing it to spin out of control, jump a median and hit Lopez’s northbound black minivan.
A passenger in the van was taken to a hospital and treated for minor injuries.
