Recognition for the Canine Cops

The article (Jan. 7) concerning the Santa Ana Police Department’s super dog Conrad von Biskirchen (Conny) is a sad example of a brilliant career coming to an end. These dogs are an asset to the police program, yet they don’t receive the recognition they deserve. Movies such as “Police Academy II” depict these officers on four legs to be more of a nuisance rather than an aid.
