A 49-year-old Anaheim man has died of injuries received Friday when the car he was driving hit a railroad signal pole, authorities said.
Daniel Demostene died at 2:43 a.m. Saturday at UCI Medical Center in Orange, a spokesman for the coroner’s office said.
Anaheim police said witnesses reported that Demostene was driving east on La Palma Avenue, just east of Pauline Street, about 11:10 p.m. Friday when his car hit a guard rail, then a signal light pole for the Santa Fe Railroad tracks. They said the car flipped on its side.
When police and Fire Department paramedics arrived, they found Demostene unconscious inside the car, an Anaheim police spokesman said.
