Local News in Brief : Deputy Assault Charged

A sheriff’s deputy who had served in the department for six years was suspended with pay while he awaits arraignment on felony charges of assaulting a citizen during the course of an investigation last August, it was announced Thursday. The deputy, Kevin Lloyd, 29, was assigned to Lakewood Sheriff’s Station when the attack occurred, spokesman Roger Hom said. Hom declined to give any further information about the offense or to identify the citizen, but he said charges were filed against Lloyd after a three-month investigation.
