Oil, Natural Gas Found in Fortune Petroleum Well

Benton Oil & Gas Co. of Oxnard has discovered oil and natural gas in a well in Ventura County owned by Fortune Petroleum Corp. of Agoura Hills, Fortune said.

The well, about three miles east of Fillmore, is producing about 90 barrels of oil and 400,000 cubic feet of gas per day. Fortune will receive a 2.5% royalty until Benton recovers its drilling costs, Fortune said. After that, Fortune will retain a 25% interest in the well.
