Capitals Extend Streak to Four

LANDOVER, Md. — The Washington Capitals won their fourth consecutive game, improving the NHL’s best overall record to 15-4 with a 6-2 victory over the Pittsburgh Penguins on Friday night.

Todd Krygier scored twice during a four-goal second period that lifted the Capitals to their second rout of the defending Stanley Cup champions in 18 days. Washington has won seven of eight, beginning with an 8-0 victory at Pittsburgh on Oct. 29.

The Capitals, averaging a league-best 5.05 goals, scored on six of 18 shots in the first two periods against goalie Tom Barrasso, who was replaced by Wendell Young at the start of the third period.
