BATTLE OF THE TITANS: Say you’re running for President and hardly anyone outside of Orange County has heard of you. What could you do to attract a little attention? If you’re former Irvine Mayor Larry Agran, you challenge former Klansman David Duke to a televised debate. . . . “I believe Americans would enjoy our debating the merits of your extremist philosophy and my progressive liberalism,” Agran wrote this week to Duke, new GOP challenger to President Bush. Duke was to get the letter today.
