The 42-story AT&T; Center at 611 W. 6th St. is undergoing a $9-million refurbishing program, according to the building’s owners, Mitsui Fudosan (U.S.A.) Inc. and Dai-Ichi Seimei America.
The cost does not include an extensive asbestos removal program in progress, according to Robert A. Ortiz of Cushman Realty Corp., leasing agent. He said there is 200,000 square feet of space available in the 20-year-old building.
Included in the renovation, scheduled for completion in spring, is a new marble and granite lobby, elevator and public area renovation, sprinkler installation and other improvements. Mitsui Fudosan bought the building in 1979 for $79 million.
